Educational Programs

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Central Broward Water Control District has suspended the Educational Programs until further notice.

Central Broward Water Control District offers educational programming to fourth and fifth grade classes at schools within our District. Approved by Broward County Public Schools, the one-hour in class presentation is provided free of charge. Watch us on YouTube!

The fourth-grade program, “Wetlands: Value & Function,” uses the hands-on EnviroScape model to illustrate the characteristics of a wetland and shows students why they are important to those of us living here in south Florida, in and near the Everglades.

The fifth-grade program, “Water Pollution & Our Watershed,” uses the EnviroScape model to demonstrate to students how the Everglades watershed functions, how pollution occurs, and what they can do to prevent it.

After the presentations, the District provides incentives and follow-up activities for students. Click here for a summary of the Educational Programs. For additional details or to speak to the Outreach Department please call 954-432-5110 or send an e-mail to outreach@centralbrowardwcd.org
