TEACHERS ARE OUR FAVORITES!

The District is pleased to offer educational programming for fourth and fifth grade classes at schools within the District's boundaries.

The fourth grade program, "WETLANDS," uses the hands-on EnviroScape model to teach the characteristics of a wetland and what students can do to preserve Florida's wetlands.

The fifth grade program, "WATER POLLUTION & OUR WATERSHED," also uses an EnviroScape model to show students how the Everglades watershed functions and what they can do to prevent pollution.

To receive a detailed outline of either program and sample student handouts, contact the District by telephone at 954-432-5110 or by e-mail at outreach@centralbrowardwcd.org.

The District 's education program is approved by Broward County Public Schools in compliance with the Jessica Lunsford Act.

STORM DRAIN IN ACTION!
RAIN WATER RUNS OFF OF LAWNS,
SIDEWALKS, PARKING LOTS AND
STREETS INTO THE STORM DRAIN.

CANAL
STORMWATER RUNOFF IS COLLECTED BY STORM DRAINS AND DELIVERED TO THE DISTRICT'S SECONDARY CANALS.  EVENTUALLY THE WATER FINDS ITS WAY TO THE C-11 CANAL WHERE IT'S CARRIED TO THE ATLANTIC OCEAN
AND THE EVERGLADES.

"THERE IS ONLY ONE EVERGLADES,"
as Marjorie Stoneman Douglas said,
and we must work TOGETHER to restore
and preserve it for everyone!
